typography / branding / conference systems
Fall 2020
The objective of this project was to create a branding system for an event that worked across a variety of assets. This conference was a fictitious event for AWP (Association of Writers & Writing Programs). My theme was mental health in YA literature.
Project deliverables included: Event poster, session poster, event badges, social media promotional materials, and a program magazine with an event overview, schedule, and articles.
I opted to use a typeface that brought a hand-drawn and youthful feeling to the system. I paired this with a clean san-serif that works better for body text, especially in assets like the program magazine. I was also deliberate about using colors that feel inviting since this event emphasizes the positive benefits of writing about mental health.
